I, Sanjay Yadav the Founder President of United Madheshies of Nepal would like to thanks everyone i.e. Madheshi, Tharu & Janjati Youths, Civil Society Members, Leaders, Political Parties,Journalists and well-wishers for their supports for our quick release and would like to share my experiences of judicial Custody in Asia largest Prisons (Tihar jail, New Delhi). I salute to my energetic and enthusiastic Heroes and brothersfor their courageand also like to thank you allfor having trust on my leadership.
I also want to thanks all the members of UMN Members & well-wishers who have participated in different protest organised by us on different other events and days. Friendsyou all were not present that day but your energy and support was always with us, it was not possible without you. You all deserve equal credit for the work we did.
Black flags were reflection of our Prime Minister’s heart that never showed any kind of sympathy towards Madheshi people and Madhesh. It wastheway for us to show our anger and courage. Our fearless faces sought to grow fear on the face of ourPrime Minister, that we are no more in fear to demand our rights. It was an act to pay tribute to martyrswho showered their blood for us.
About Organiser of protest
United Madheshies of Nepal (UMN/UMON) was organiser of program. Series of protests are organised by UMN in Delhi against Human right violation in Madhesh(Southern part of Nepal). Many times we have submitted memorandum to Human Rights Commission, various Embassies, Agencies and News channels. United Madheshies of Nepal is not associated with any political parties and all protest in Delhi were organised by uswithout any under influencesof any political parties.Black Flag to PM wasalso planned and executed byus; this was not planted by anyone. We were 22 people at that time, showing Black flag at Airport but only 20of us were detained from Embassy of Nepal, while we are protesting second time on same day.
Black Flag.
Time was about 5:15 pm. Security was tightened; there was no one on road side, police vans were running continuously, Security was standing with gun on the road side. Many of my team members were feared, it was also strange situation for me too. It was time to show my leadership and make the plan successful. When we got message about P.M. vehicle I start walking towards road with my Black Flag then I saw everyone was running towards road and started shouting “killer oli go back” waving black flag. The place,we were standing was check-post, so we got time to wave black flag around 2-3 minutes.
Arrest from Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi
After showing black flag to our PM, we immediately planned to protest at Embassy of Nepal where our PM dinner was organised. We all directly reached at Nepal embassy by 7:30 pm, we started shouting “killer Oli go back” and waving black flag with in a minutes Delhi police detained us. They kept us in bus for 8 hours. They also committed us that you will be released after half an hour when PM of Nepal leaves the venue (Nepal Embassy) but they did not. After that SHO of Barakhamba Police station called me Mr. Yadav you come outside the bus I have to talk with you. He asks me everything regarding Airport protest and embassy protest.
After that he took my phone and he just go through my dial details, all contacts, messenger, what’s app and atlast he just kept my phone with him. He passed an order to police to detain all mobile from the friend who was in bus. After the 20 minutes of talking, SHO told me to again sit in bus with my friends.SHO sent us by bus for medical check up in Rammanohar Lohiya with 10 policemen. Aftercheck up of 4-5 hours they kept us in a lock up and said take somerest but no one slept .Most of us were worried for our quick release anyway we passed the time by sharing our experience after arrest , singing songs in groupand playing group games.
That was the time to see our brotherhood, I becameemotionaland realized that we are the Brothers from same mother that is Mother Madhesh and Nepal. The moment I also felt proud was the surprise visit of elder brothers Prashant Jha and Pramod Jaiswal .Their visit added more courage and confidence within us.Our moral go higher and we come to realize there are someone for us in Delhi .It is very sad that the work should be done by our Embassy were done by ourbrothers. Their efforts to release us were outstanding. I.e. Prashant Jha and Pramod Jaiswal.Personally me andUMN is thankful.

Tihar Prisons
Tihar prisons are divided into many divisions. Out of our 20 brothers (Detained) 4 was with me in same division. We passed through many security checks and finally reached. There was 95Prisoners including us dispersed in only two rooms. There, everyone was at samestrata i.e. rich, poor, senior and junior. They had their own life, some was enjoying and some was sad after that we also became part of that. They welcomed us and asked for the crime we committed? We replied, “for showing black flag to Nepal PM”.
One guy among them salutes to me and said,“I have respect for what you did for your people.” That time we felt proud for what we had did. He buys toothpaste and soap for us by his Jail smart card and introduces us with the main in charge of our division after that thing was normal for us I don’t have regret for this even I lost my job from reputed MNC company. It’s my pleasure that I got opportunity to lead this protest. This was treatment with me and 4 others. Excluding me there are several stories about treatment in Tihar to our friends (Detained). Some have badly some have well.
Welcome programby United Madheshies of Nepal (UMN)
While we were inside Jail, we were unknown with protests and strong demonstrations for our release. All Madheshies, Tharus and Janjaties were protesting and strongly demanding our releasein Nepal. Madheshies were united for one cause. It was the situation we always wanted in Madhesh and Nepal. I am thankful to UMN, Madheshi brothers and well-wishers who welcomed us in Gandhi peace foundation with colours and garlands and honoured us as Heroes.Bothers I just want to say that we are not Heroes; the real heroes are those, who contributed their blood for us.
Meanwhile, Nepal Government/Embassy of Nepal to Delhi didn’t show their responsibility to appeal to the Indian Authorities for our Release. This would have been the positive impact on us that there is Embassy for us as well.
Thanks and best regards

Sanjay Yadav
