Accusing India for any political instability in Nepal is a fashion which has always been trending. You do whatever as you wish and if turns out a disaster, blame India. It’s the safest way out of the crisis and Politicians have mastered this trick to manipulate the masses. In general, the failure is the result of “Foreign power”. However, this “Foreign Power” is invisible and only politicians with big mouth possess power to see these “Foreign Power”. This certainly is ridiculous as no outsiders can ever play without the help of insiders.
It is evident that India does keep interest in Nepal’s internal matter but it’s the Nepalese leaders who for their own personal interest beg in front of them. Almost every political party and leaders want to become the favourite of Indian government and it’s when the India government doesn’t favour one party, that party suddenly becomes “true Nationalist” and starts anti-Indian rhetoric without a second thought. Therefore Nepalese politicians are “true nationalist” only when Indian government doesn’t take their sides. This is display of utter shamelessness but shamelessness is the only thing left in them.
When India sympathized with Madhesh uprising 3 and suggested Nepal government to address the issue without causing further loss of life, Oli’s government in every possible way tried to portray Madheshi as an “Indian agent” but on the other hand they themselves wanted Indian government to intervene and pressure Madheshi parties to withdraw the agitation. So it turns out if India favours Madhesh , India is dangerous to Nepalese sovereignty whereas if India favours pahadi parties , India becomes a “true neighbour”. This is how the mainstream media presented the case inside Nepal, a blatant show of hypocrisy. So, it’s not only India that uses Nepalese leaders, Pahadi leaders of Nepal know how to use Indian in turn.
Government of Nepal presented a three-point proposal at the end of December 2015 for the amendment of the constitution, a constitution which was hailed as “One of the best constitution in the World” in the month of September by the pahadi leaders. So, it was quite surprising to see “The best constitution” being amended just after first four months of being promulgated. This proposal was a status-quo as it did not address any Madheshi demands but surprisingly India welcomed the Nepal government’s move. This welcome note from the Indian side was a morale boost for the Oli government and from there on they have always looked to capitalise on the situation. Internal dispute between the Madheshi Morcha leaders left the agitation without a face and on the verge of extinction but to everyone’s amazement people haven’t given up and this what still upsets K.P Oli and company.
Given the case above, Oli and team would certainly look to please the Indian government to maintain their strong position inside Nepal. It is really hard to understand what Madheshi Morcha is up to but K.P Oli and its team is very much clear about its goal. i.e Anyhow deny Madheshi their share in the constitution and for that Oli would try hard to become the best puppet of India in the Nepalese history .I may not be totally right but I think that day is not very far when we call Oli a “Modi Bhakt”.
