Aren’t you tired by now ? Well most of us are bored but it’s not because of the struggle but because of indecisiveness and utter failure of the Morcha leaders to capitalize on the enthusiasm and energy of the masses.
Now it seems as if leaders didn’t want the Madhesh uprising 3 on the first place. They didn’t come up with any concrete plan when the protest erupted and are still wandering in the bushes. As a result of which anarchy has prevailed in Madhesh.

About a month ago, I was on a bike travelling from Garuda of Parsa district to chandranigahpur. On the way a group compromising mostly of teenagers ordered us to stop and asked us not to ride bike from the next day.
The surprising thing, not a single local leader or any responsible personwas present there. Just a bunch of hot headed kids with “laathi” in their hands and shouting “Jay Madhesh” irrelevantly just like the ultra-nationalist shouting “Jay Nepal” wherever possible . This particular scene which I witnessed is common nowadays.
Madheshi morcha never really had complete control of the protest plus the Morcha never tried and was never serious about anything happening on the ground. The leaders were always busy in Kathmandu for thenegotiation. “negotiations” which were never less than a circus .
It is really difficult to understand what is that the Morcha leaders are really up to .On one day they declare that “the negotiations if any has to be done in Madhesh “, next day they themselves run to kathmandu making fool out of themselves.
This can only happen if leaders are dishonest to people and my suspicion runs very high in this regard. On contrary, Madheshi population seems very much clear on what the end result should look like. This time, people aren’t following leaders but leaders are following the people and I’m quite sure if the leaders don’t work as expected, they will be dumped aside in favour of another group.
This fear of “getting dumped “has prevented the Morcha leaders from signing any unfavourable agreement which I think is a positive part of the protest.
However , given the record of betrayal by some of the prominent Madheshi leaders I would seriously urge the Madheshi population to immediately look for an alternate honest , determined , experienced and capable leadership which always remains clear on the agenda .This agitation is definitely “not for sale” and it would be a great disrespect to all the martyrs if any unfair settlement is done.
We are travelling on a bus but the driver seems reluctant to steer the way the passengers want to. It is the time either driver decides to do what passengers want to or the passengers simply change the driver.
